Freezing for a short time will not damage the safety or nutrition of the product however, we have only conducted safety testing at refrigeration temperatures - nor are the pouches tested under freezing conditions. The primary concern is the amount of time it takes to thaw the food which could increase microbial growth cause texture and flavor changes. While freezing overnight and thawing in the refrigerator should be fine, we do not advocate it due to our having no validation that this would be 100% safe.
We have not had any issues or complaints mentioned to us from any of our customers regarding food sensitivities to lemon juice. The percentage of lemon juice is Baby Gourmet is very small- at 0.2% it is less than half of one percent. It is actually very common for baby foods on the market to have lemon juice concentrate to control pH or colour. We now know that after 6 months of age there is no reason to avoid introducing any foods to your baby, except for honey (due to food borne illness risk). It is a common myth that introduction of citrus should be delayed. And there is such a small amount of lemon juice in Baby Gourmet (0.2%) anyways, that your baby should have no problem with it!
At Baby Gourmet we are concerned about our environmental footprint and have taken a big-picture view on the issue. Our lightweight pouches significantly reduce greenhouse gasses produced in shipping. In addition, per 100g of product, the use of glass container packaging results in 14 times more landfill material by weight than our pouch. In fact, pouches have a better overall environmental rating than glass jar alternatives. Furthermore, an independent Life Cycle analysis revealed that the pouches take less energy and fewer materials to make, and they produce less air pollution than glass, tetra pak, or PET plastice bottles. Although the pouch itself is not recyclable, the cap is 100% recyclable.
We don't have corn in our products but we want to make sure that we have the allergen documentation from all of our manufacturers. Although we know that we have no corn, we know that some of our products are manufactured in plants that do process corn as an ingredient. Although they do all have a cleaning process in place, we do want you to be aware that corn is processed in our manufacturers' facilities.
There is dairy in our apple crisp and in the production facility. However, our manufacturing facility has procedures in place to prevent cross-contamination of this product with other allergens present in the facility. We have an allergen statement from our manufacturer that confirms that there is no soy or derivates of soy anywhere in the plant. With the exception of Apple Crisp, you can feed your baby any of our products as they do not contain dairy.
