we help babies and kids love good food

Poached Halibut Purée

White fish is a perfect protein for ongoing growth and development; it’s easily digestible and a great way to introduce fish into a baby’s diet. Not only does it provide all the amino acids and is high in omega 3 (needed for building a healthy body), it’s a good source of B vitamins. Its mild taste and smooth puréed consistency is easily added to most any puréed baby food (such as Baby Gourmet).

  1. Place one fillet of halibut in a small saucepan, just covering with water. Cover pot, bring water to a boil and then reduce to simmer. Continue to cook covered for 4 to 5 minutes.
  2. Remove fillet (remove skin) and purée in processor with 6 tbsp. of water or breast milk for added nutrition!
  3. Mix 1 tbsp. of halibut purée with 3 tbsp. of puréed fruit and/or veg purée.
  4. Freeze leftover purée in ice cube trays to easily pull out for future use.
  5. Halibut’s mild taste can be added to Baby Gourmet baby food quite easily.
